Teacher Creature Project 2013
During this project I learned how to use some necessary tools in Photoshop, such as the erase tool. I also learned how to refine an image using feather controls, contrast, and smoothing. I also learned the details about foreground, middle ground, and background. I didn't do the best with this project, because I am not very technical and have never used Photoshop before, so there are definitely some mistakes in the image. But if I had more time to work on it, and some more time to figure out Photoshop a little bit more, I could have done better with this project. Before this actual project, I was learning about adding text, changing text color, and blending images together more easily, which I used a lot during the Photoshop project. I was going to use a tent as another image, but the shadow was off and it made the tent look slanted even though it was placed on flat ground. To make it look realistic, I would have had to use another image of a tent or it would not look realistic.
Landscape 1: Photoshop Attempt 1
For this project, I have copy and pasted images, incorporated text, and changed elements of pictures, such as lighting. I took Sara Finnegan-Doyon's eye and pasted it over the seal's eye. I also pasted red nails on the fin. In the background, I added tetra fish. The lighting was changed on the top plants for the effect of a fish tank light. The tools I used were...
The hardest part of the project was making everything more realistic. I had to spend a lot of time refining edges, and finding the correct placement for realism. I persevered through the project by staying focused during class, and troubleshooting with the tools. This was my first time using Photoshop, and since I was not always able to ask for help, I spent a couple days on my own experimenting with the different tools that I could use to enhance the picture.
My favorite part of the project was how independent it was. While there were requirements that had to be followed, I feel like he project was relaxed. It was really interesting to experiment with a kind of art that was new to me.
